STEM Project - Hydraulic Arm
Rules
- 1 student builds 1 hydraulic arm.
- The arm needs to lift an empty bottle of water, move it around its axis, put it down, and release the arm.
- How many bottles can you move in 1 min?
- You may use any of the following materials:
- Popsicle sticks/ Carton board/ Futureboard
- 8 Syringes
- Tubes (used in fish tanks)
- Electric wires (copper) to connect things
- Glue
- Colors
Tip
- Search the Internet for ideas.
- Go for efficiency: cheap materials and useful design.
- Test your project before we try it at school.
- Apply the Engineering Design Process.
Grade (max 20 marks)
- Design and Appearance - 10 points
- Working project - 10 points
- Creativity - extra points
